Keeping Our Local Factory Busy
Our Melbourne Factory have seen a huge portion of production orders either cancelled or pushed back to later in the year. As of last week, Informale was one of two local labels still continuing to place orders as planned, and as a result a significant portion of their small team of seamstresses may be stopping work. We want to do everything we can to keep them busy and getting paid.
During this crisis, Charities around the world are facing existential crises as funding dries up and the number of vulnerable individuals and families increases due to lockdowns and layoffs. In order for us to have the most direct and significant impact as possible, we have decided to make our donation to local charity Foodbank Victoria. Their mission is to fight hunger by distributing food and groceries to more than 450 charities in Victoria (the State in which our city is located), support vital food relief programs including community pantries, mobile soup vans and emergency food hampers. They also provide healthy food supplies to more than 1000 schools across our State.
