J002 Jungle Jacket - Sashiko - Flâneurs X Informale Collab
An Exclusive Flâneurs X Informale Collaboration
The J002 is our interpretation of the 2nd Pattern Vietnam War Jungle Jacket made for the U.S. Army. We have retained it’s utilitarian nature, keeping the jacket unlined and the iconic shape of the front pockets, collar and cuffs. The silhouette has been greatly refined so as to adapt well to it’s new urban environment - the J002 can be worn just as easily over a suit as it can over Army fatigues.
This special collaboration SASHIKO fabric is a traditional Jacquard weave woven and rope-dyed in Japan. The material is thick (~450gsm) with a surprising amount of flexibility and movement, thanks to it's low-tension weave. It's rope dyed in indigo and rinse-washed before being cut and sewn, which gives it an even texture when new. Beautiful fading and patina will develop over time with wear.
